The relevance of the Black Church today is discussed. The author commented on the relevancy of churches today and the tasks which lay ahead for them in the future. The author’s conclusion and recommendations have been developed throughout his reading and through his own experience as a church planter.

About the Author
John Buffington is a graduate of the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Wake Forest, North Carolina with a MDV in Church Planting. He holds a PhD. in Church History from the Newburg Theological Seminary and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from East Carolina University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the George Washington University. He served in the US Navy for twenty-five years. He has held several senior administrative positions, before he entered the seminary at the age of sixty-two. He is currently the pastor of the Minersville Community Church which he and his wife planted in 2008.
